The Baylor University Libraries subscribe to over 25 databases that use the FirstSearch interface. These steps for getting references from an EBSCOhost database can be used with any of these databases.
- To get to the libraries electronic resources, go to the Baylor Libraries’ home page (http://www.baylor.edu/lib).
- Select “Electronic Resources” from the “Books, Articles & More” menu and look for and click on the link to a FirstSearch database, “WorldCat”, for example.
- Search a topic of interest.
- From the search results page, mark a few records.
- Click on the “Export” icon.
- From the “Export:” options select “Marked records from this search”.
- From the “Export to:” options select “RefWorks”.
- Click on the “Export” button and switch to the RefWorks window; if you have not logged in to your RefWorks account, you will be prompted to login.
- The number of records imported should display.
- Click the “View the Last Imported Folder” button to see the references just imported.
- When references are first imported, that is the best time to edit them and associate them with the appropriate subject folders.
