Other tips:

  • The corresponding author is usually has a star or other symbol by his/her name.
  • It will be easier to find articles by your corresponding author if he or she has a more unique (last) name.  Try to avoid articles where the lead author has a name like Michael Smith or Chang Lee.
  • If your corresponding author is/was a graduate student or post-doc you are less likely to find additional articles.
  • If you pick an article with many authors (i.e. more than 4 or 5), you may have difficulty finding research groups that cite the article that do not have any of the authors.
