Getting Started

Once you have your topic, you'll want to start building a list of relevant keywords related to your topic.

Consulting musical encyclopedias and dictionaries, especially Oxford Music Online (linked below), is a great way to start.  See the Dictionaries/Encyclopedias tab above for more resources in that category.  In addition to reading the articles, look for bibliographies at the end that can lead you to other useful sources.

Next, do some preliminary searches using OneSearch, the main search tool for the Baylor Libraries (linked on the left).  In OneSearch, look at the subject headings in the individual records.  Note the ones that look relevant to you, and follow the subject heading links to find more items on that topic.
