Biblical Studies Research

Where to look for BU Libraries Resources

Studying

In biblical studies research and writing you will use a variety of resources to

  • access the Biblical text,
  • decipher the text,
  • trace the history of its interpretation
  • and come to your own judgements about its message and meaning for our times.

While there are many tools available to assist your exegetical work, most items you will need to access fall into 2 broad types of publication:

  1. Books
  2. Journal Articles

When you are looking for book titles in the BU Libraries collection you will need to conduct a search via OneSearch, the default search widget on the Baylor Libraries Home Page.

When you are looking for journal articles, you will need to search database indexes relevant for Biblical studies and theology:

  • ATLA Religion
  • New Testament Abstracts
  • Old Testament Abstracts
  • Religion and Philosophy Collection
  • Religious and Theological Abstracts
