Books: Library of Congress Call Number System
The Baylor Libraries uses the call number system designed by the Library of Congress (LC) for all books about the arts. This LC classification system is constructed of several lines of "code": the first line of the call number, consisting of a letter or letter combination, designates the subject classification

| T | Technology (which includes subsections related to photography; arts and crafts; and chemical technologies for photography, ceramics, textiles, etc. For more detailed information on these areas, see tabs at top.) |
The second line, consisting of a number, designates specific subclassification, such as books about restoration of sculpture, the history of drawing, printmaking and engraving, darkroom technique, etc.
The remaining lines of the call number use information about the publication (usually a code for the author or composer and maybe a title and publication date) and are used to put items in order on the shelf example
