Resources for the Introduction to Interior Design class and assignments

Image Databases

While these two databases contain the best collections of interior/design images, you can see a list of many other databases that the Baylor Library subscribes to that contain image collections not necessarily art, architecture or design focused here:  Image Collections

Websites

Books

You can find great high-quality images in many of the design books that we have in the library.  If you are searching in OneSearch for a design book, there is an easy way to tell whether or not the book will have images.

If you take a look at the record for a book from the library, look carefully at the "Format" field - it will tell you not only how many pages are in the book, but if there are "ill" - i.e. illustrations/pictures and whether they are color.  It will say "col." for all color pictures, "some col." for if only some of the pictures are color and "chiefly col." (like above) if the majority of pictures are color.

Scanners

You can find easy-to-use high quality scanners on the 1st floors of Jones and Moody Libraries, and on the Garden (basement) level of Moody.  Scanning images from books (make sure to note where you got the image from!) is a snap!
