TED 3380 - Social Justice Issues in Education

A library guide for students in TED 3380, Social Justice Issues in Education.

Ways to Search for Articles that define Social Justice

You can use OneSearch, the library's discovery tool, to find articles that define Social Justice.

Head to baylor.edu/library and then in the main search box in the center of the screen where it says OneSearch, click "more search options." This will take you to the advanced search screen where you can choose more limiters to refine your search.

Now, you are able to add your search terms and limiters. Select "articles and more" at the top of the page. Then, try entering "social justice" as a "subject" term. Be sure to make sure that you update the date range so that the articles that appear are within the last five years.

Once you hit "search," you will see that there are more ways you can narrow your search using the facets on the left side of the page. You can even narrow by subject, depending on viewpoint you want to see.

You can search for articles that define Social Justice using a database called "Credo Reference." To find Credo Reference, go to the library's homepage at baylor.edu/library. In the center of the page choose the box called "Databases." From there you can search by keyword--just type "Credo" and then click on Credo once it appears.

When you get to Credo, you can click on "advanced search" and then enter "social justice" in the box that is labeled "with the exact phrase." Once you do that you will see all of the articles with the phrase "social justice." You can narrow by date range on the left side of the page.
